Next, we explore the rest of the box. It contains the essential accessories. Samsung provides the small SIM card ejection tool, which is necessary to insert your chip. Just below that, a charging cable is included. It’s a black USB-C to USB-C cable. However, note the absence of a power adapter. This decision complies with current European legislation. You will need to use a charger you already own.

Design and Ergonomics: An Incredible Slimness

From the very first touch, one thing is striking. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is impressively slim. It feels much more refined than its predecessor, the Z Flip 6. This evolution is immediately noticeable. Furthermore, the phone is slightly wider, a change that considerably improves user comfort.

Indeed, this new width changes everything. The phone fits better in the palm. The grip is more natural and secure, bringing the experience closer to that of a classic smartphone. When closed, it is compact and pleasant to handle. Samsung has clearly studied and optimized its ergonomics. The weight is also slightly reduced. In terms of photography, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is very capable. The main sensor does a monstrous job, producing detailed and bright shots. It is accompanied by an ultra-wide-angle sensor, which is good, although slightly behind the main one. The internal selfie camera does the job for video calls.

However, the real trick is to use the main sensors for selfies. Thanks to the large external screen, you can film yourself with them. The video feedback is large and comfortable, resulting in exceptional selfie quality. This is a major asset for content creators, eliminating the need for accessories to get a screen preview.

We conducted a few video tests. Outdoors, with wind, the microphone performs well, providing clear and intelligible audio. The zoom is also effective, with smooth transitions between levels. The autofocus can sometimes be a bit slow, taking a brief moment to adjust. But overall, the quality is there.

First Thoughts on the Chip and Battery Life

A common question arises about Exynos chips: are they powerful? Based on our first few days of use, the answer is yes. The system is perfectly fluid. We have not noticed any slowdowns. The experience is close to what Snapdragon offers.

Of course, more intensive testing will be necessary. We’ll need to see how the phone behaves over time, especially during long gaming sessions. But for daily use, the difference is invisible. The average user will likely never see a distinction.

Is the Galaxy Z Flip 7 Close to Perfection?

After these first few days, our opinion is very positive. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is an impressive product. It corrects the main flaws of its predecessors. Its wider design makes it more pleasant to use. Its large external screen is a revolution. And its almost invisible crease is a technical feat.

We believe it is one of the best foldables on the market. It’s difficult to draw a final conclusion so early. A full review is needed to judge battery life and performance. This test will take place soon, notably during a trip on the mythical Route 66—a journey of nearly 4000 kilometers (about 2500 miles). This will allow us to push the phone to its limits.
