Honor Magic 8 Pro: Everything you need to know about it!

Today, I want to talk about the Honor Magic 8 Pro. This smartphone stands among the most anticipated premium devices of the year. I’ve followed the leaks, the official news, and the early renders. Now, I’ll share my impressions, expectations, and what makes this model unique.

Honor Magic 8 Pro Release Date

According to reliable sources, the official presentation in China will take place on October 15. The launch there should happen mid-October. For Europe, as usual, we’ll have to wait. I expect it to arrive in early 2025, just like the Magic 7 Pro did last year.

A Fresh Design

The design still follows the Magic series identity. At the back, we get a large circular camera module. However, this time the phone comes with a flat metal frame. The rounded edges of the Magic 7 Pro are gone, and I think the flat look feels more modern.

As for the colors, Honor plans to launch a stylish sky blue version. It reflects light beautifully, creating unique patterns. There will also be a green, a possible gold, and the classic black and white. In Europe, I’m almost certain we’ll get at least three colors: black, white, and one exclusive option.

Another interesting detail is the new AI button placed on the right side. It gives quick access to intelligent features. I find this addition very useful.

A Stunning Display

On the front, what surprises me most are the ultra-thin bezels. They measure under 1 mm. That’s an incredible achievement.

The display is a 6.8-inch OLED with 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Brightness reaches 5000 nits, which is massive. To put it in perspective, it’s like carrying a flashlight in your pocket. Visibility under sunlight will be excellent.

Power With the New Snapdragon Chip

Honor confirmed the Magic 8 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. It’s Qualcomm’s most powerful processor. It promises top-level performance, lower energy consumption, and improved AI capabilities.

The phone also integrates Dual AI architecture. Thanks to Lowbit Quantization technology, computing power increases by 15%. At the same time, storage usage drops by 30%, and energy consumption decreases by 30% as well.

In short, Honor aims for raw performance and smart optimization.

A Massive Battery

The most exciting rumor suggests a 7000 mAh battery. Some leaks even claim 8000 mAh. If true, this would be record-breaking for a premium smartphone.

Charging speeds also look impressive: 100 W wired charging and 60 W wireless charging. With these numbers, I could recharge the device in just minutes. For heavy users like me, this is a real advantage.

A Camera Setup That Excites Me

Now, let’s talk about the highlight: the camera system. The rear module will feature three sensors:

  • A 50 MP main sensor with variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/2.0.
  • A 50 MP ultra-wide sensor, perfect for landscapes.
  • A 200 MP periscope telephoto sensor with optical stabilization.

This last sensor excites me the most. It has an 85 mm equivalent focal length. Honor calls it the Night God Telephoto, suggesting excellent low-light photography. If the promises hold, this could redefine night shots on smartphones.

Honor also includes its AI Image Engine, which optimizes photos in real time with advanced algorithms.

Honor Magic 8 Pro Price

For now, Honor hasn’t shared any price details. However, I believe it will be close to the Magic 7 Pro’s launch price. In France, Honor often applies a €200–€300 discount at launch.

If the company follows the same strategy, this smartphone will stay more affordable than direct competitors while offering premium features.

My Personal Opinion

I must admit, the Honor Magic 8 Pro already wins me over. I love the flat design, the promised performance looks outstanding, and the camera setup really excites me.

The only uncertainty is the official price. But if Honor maintains its aggressive pricing, this phone could become one of the best value-for-money flagships on the market.

I can’t wait to test it in real life. If the rumors are accurate, it could compete head-to-head with giants like Samsung and Apple.

The Honor Magic 8 Pro looks like an ambitious smartphone. With its refined design, ultra-bright display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, and 200 MP telephoto lens, it has everything to impress.

I’m eagerly waiting for its European release in early 2025. Until then, I’ll keep following every leak to share more updates.
