Apple could announce the iPhone SE 4 the week of February 17, 2025. The announcement would be made via a simple press release, without a dedicated event. This strategy allows Apple to capture attention before the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (March 3-6, 2025).
By releasing its smartphone before this event, the brand hopes to get ahead of announcements from Samsung, Xiaomi, and Google. Apple could also present a new MacBook Air with an M4 chip or an updated iPad Air. However, the iPhone SE 4 will remain the star of this announcement.
What is the Price of the iPhone SE 4?
The price of the iPhone SE 4 could start at 599 euros. This increase is justified by the many improvements to the model.
In the United States, it could be marketed starting at $499, a rise from the $429 of the iPhone SE 3. Apple may also offer 128 GB of base storage instead of 64 GB previously.
In Europe, specialists estimate prices of:
- 599 euros for the base version,
- 669 euros for 256 GB,
- 729 euros for 512 GB.
A Design Inspired by the iPhone 14
The iPhone SE 4 abandons the Home button and adopts a more modern design. It takes on the appearance of the iPhone 14 with:
- An edge-to-edge screen with a notch,
- Face ID replacing Touch ID,
- A larger and more immersive format.
This model also adopts a 6.1-inch OLED screen, a first for the SE range. Gone are the lower-quality LCD screens.

iPhone SE 4 Technical Specifications
Apple may equip the iPhone SE 4 with the A18 chip, the same as the upcoming iPhone 16. Some reports suggest the use of an A17 Pro, still highly efficient.
In terms of photography, the smartphone ditches its 12 MP sensor in favor of a 48 MP sensor. This improvement provides better details and better performance in low light. However, it would likely have a single sensor, without a telephoto or ultra-wide-angle lens.
Another major change concerns 5G. The iPhone SE 4 could be the first model to feature an Apple-designed 5G modem, eliminating its reliance on Qualcomm.
Finally, Apple will adopt USB-C for this model. This change, mandated by European regulations, will simplify connectivity and align the iPhone SE with recent iPads and MacBooks.
iPhone SE 4: A Turning Point for Apple?
With the iPhone SE 4, Apple is repositioning its “affordable” smartphone. It benefits from a modern design, an OLED screen, a powerful chip, and an improved camera.
However, its price places it in competition with highly competitive Android smartphones and refurbished older iPhones. It remains to be seen if this new model will convince buyers.
Apple is betting on a balance between modernity and nostalgia. This new iPhone SE checks all the boxes to appeal to a broad audience.
