JBL has officially announced the pre-order of the Flip 7 and Charge 6 speakers in the United States. These new models offer smart features, improved portability, and enhanced battery life.
A Robust Design with IP68 Certification
JBL has redesigned the Flip 7 and Charge 6. They are slightly longer than their predecessors but maintain the same weight. This update enhances their durability and water resistance. They have moved from an IP67 certification to IP68, allowing them to be submerged in water up to 1.5 meters deep for 30 minutes.
JBL has also optimized portability. The Flip 7 features a Pushlock mechanism that allows the attachment of accessories like a wrist strap or carabiner. The Charge 6 comes with a removable strap, making it easier to carry and attach to a backpack.

Optimized Audio Quality with AI Sound Boost and Auracast
The Flip 7 and Charge 6 benefit from an acoustic upgrade. The Flip 7 includes an improved dome tweeter for sharper highs, while the Charge 6 features an optimized woofer for deeper bass. These models also adopt AI Sound Boost technology, previously reserved for high-end JBL speakers. This algorithm dynamically adjusts sound output to minimize distortion.
Connectivity has also been enhanced. Both speakers support Bluetooth 5.4 with Auracast technology. This feature allows users to sync multiple JBL speakers or compatible third-party speakers. The USB-C port now serves both as a charging port and a digital audio input for lossless sound playback.
Extended Battery Life with Playtime Boost
The Flip 7 and Charge 6 offer extended battery life thanks to Playtime Boost technology. This feature slightly reduces bass to conserve energy. The Flip 7 now lasts up to 16 hours, compared to 12 hours for the Flip 6. The Charge 6 provides up to 28 hours of playtime, compared to 24 hours for the Charge 5.

Pricing and Availability
The JBL Flip 7 and Charge 6 are available for pre-order on JBL’s official website. The Flip 7 is priced at $149.95, while the Charge 6 costs $199.95. Shipments will begin on April 6. They are not yet available in Europe, but their release in other markets is expected soon.
With the Flip 7 and Charge 6, JBL offers more durable and high-performing portable speakers. Their IP68 certification, Auracast compatibility, and enhanced sound quality make them top choices. With improved battery life and advanced connectivity, these models are set to become leading options in the Bluetooth speaker market.
