Ergonomics and Daily Handling

Next, let’s talk about the general ergonomics of the product. For this full review, I received the model in white color. Note that there is also a very successful blue version. Overall, the phone offers an excellent grip. It thus respects the ergonomic standards of 2025 and 2026.

We find notably flat edges and rounded corners. The screen is totally flat, which avoids accidental touches. Visually, the front face remains very classic, however. Once placed on a table, it looks like its competitors.

One can easily confuse it with a OnePlus or a Xiaomi. But I totally validate this ergonomic and efficient format. The dimensions are 161.8 x 76.7 mm for the chassis. The thickness remains contained at 8.2 mm despite the technology.

Nevertheless, the weight displays 218 grams on the scale. This may seem heavy for some demanding users. However, it is a necessary and totally justified compromise. Indeed, this weight hides an absolutely gigantic battery.

Personally, I gladly accept these few extra grams. The gained battery life is largely worth this small sacrifice. The phone therefore remains balanced and pleasant to handle. It gives off a real sensation of solidity.

A Very High-Flying Visual Experience

Regarding the display, the Realme GT8 Pro strikes very hard. The front features a 6.79-inch AMOLED panel. The borders are extremely fine and harmonious. It is therefore a real pleasure for the eyes. Realme makes no compromise on visual quality.

The resolution is in Quad HD+. In other words, you enjoy a very precise 2K definition. The pixel density reaches 508 PPI. Every detail thus appears with surgical sharpness. Moreover, fluidity is also present.

The refresh rate goes up to 144 Hz. LTPO technology adapts this frequency according to your usage. This intelligently preserves the battery. Furthermore, the brightness of the panel impressed me. The theoretical peak reaches 7000 nits.

In real use, we are around 2000 nits (HBM). The screen remains perfectly readable, even in bright sunlight. Besides, it supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision standards. Your movies and series will benefit from striking contrast.

Gamers are not forgotten either. The instant touch sampling rate climbs to 3200 Hz. Responsiveness is therefore immediate in games. For my part, I did not touch the factory settings. The default color calibration is excellent.

Finally, the screen is perfectly suitable for all uses. Whether for multimedia or reading, it is a treat. The size of 6.79 inches is a good happy medium. The visual experience is one of the best on the market.

Performance: Mastered Brute Power

On the performance side, the Realme GT8 Pro is a monster. This is the first phone I am testing with this processor. Indeed, it carries the latest Snapdragon from Qualcomm. It is supported by the powerful Adreno 840 GPU. But Realme adds a secret weapon.

The phone contains a second dedicated chip: the “Hyper Vision Plus”. This chip works in parallel with the graphics processor. It thus improves visual rendering and fluidity. Its role is to upscale game images.

It transforms, for example, a 720p image into 2K. The rendering then becomes four times clearer. It also allows stabilizing the 144 Hz. You also have a specific “GT” mode. This mode unleashes all the power of the system.

In everyday life, the observation is simple. Everything is instant. Navigation is absolutely fluid. I encountered no notable slowdown. It is more powerful than a Samsung S25 Ultra.

The phone also manages its temperature very well. It does not overheat, even during heavy tasks. However, there is an important nuance to report. I have the impression that the system slightly throttles performance.

This is felt sometimes on very long sessions. The phone seems to limit maximum power to stay cool. It is subtle, but demanding gamers will see it. For 99% of users, it is imperceptible. The power will suffice for years to come.

Revolutionary Battery Life with the Titan Battery

Here is the point that stunned me the most. The battery life of the Realme GT8 Pro is insane. The manufacturer has integrated a “Titan Battery”. Its capacity reaches 7000 mAh. This is an absolute record for such a thin phone.

Concretely, I last two full days without charging. Yet, my usage is particularly intensive. I work with my phone daily. Bluetooth is activated constantly for my music. I also use Android Auto for all my trips.

I consume a lot of YouTube videos and social networks. At lunch and in the evening, I play to relax. With this smartphone, mental load disappears totally. You will never ask yourself if you will finish the day again. The answer is always yes.

You can even chain a late evening. The phone will still be alive at 5 AM. You will be tired well before it. It is an invaluable life comfort.

And if you ever need juice? Wired charging saves the day. It offers a power of 120 Watts. You recover 50% battery in just 15 minutes. This is enough to leave again for a day.

Finally, wireless charging is also present (50 Watts). It is therefore very complete. Realme often offers the charger in deals. Check the available packs well during purchase.

Photography: The Ricoh Identity Asserts Itself

Next, let’s address the photo part. Realme continues its partnership with Ricoh. The goal is to recreate the style of Ricoh GR cameras. We therefore find a very marked visual identity. The interface offers a dedicated “Ricoh GR” mode.

This mode highlights two specific focal lengths. The 28mm for a “humanist” vision. The 40mm for an “observing” vision. Five classic Ricoh filters are directly integrated. On the technical side, the main sensor is solid.

It is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX 906 (f/1.8). It is the same sensor as on the OnePlus 15. The telephoto lens uses a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5. It offers a 3x optical zoom. Thanks to the megapixels, we go up to 6x without loss.

Digital zoom can go very far (120x). But let’s remain realistic about quality. The 10x zoom is correct in good conditions. Beyond that, the image degrades quickly. Ultra high-end competitors sometimes do better here.

However, the 3x and 6x are excellent. Portrait mode cuts out subjects with precision. Skin textures are realistic and pleasant. But be careful, this style will not please everyone. The photos have character.

The rendering is not “neutral” or “perfect”. It mimics the grain and contrast of Ricoh. Saturation is sometimes a bit strong. I also noted focus issues up close. Close objects are sometimes blurry.

At night, the phone manages very well. Exposure is well managed. The balance between shadows and bright lights is good. In video, the result is stable and clean. It is a camera with a soul.

Price, Availability, and Conclusion

Finally, let’s talk money. The Realme GT8 Pro positions itself aggressively. The 12GB RAM / 256GB version costs €999. This is the recommended retail price at launch. But we can already find it cheaper.

At the moment I am writing, offers exist. We can find it around €900 on Amazon. For this price, the offer is extremely competitive. The price-quality ratio is difficult to beat.

In conclusion, what do I think of this product? I like the risk-taking on the design. The initiative is original and welcome. The grip is excellent despite the weight.

The battery life is simply incredible. It is the indisputable strong point of this model. Fast charging completes the picture perfectly. The photo part is good, but divisive. The Ricoh style has its fans.

The software interface is close to Oppo’s. It is fluid, clean, and efficient. I love using this phone daily. Realme signs a very clean copy this year.

I find this GT8 Pro more accomplished than the GT7. Improvements are real and useful. If you are looking for a smartphone for 2026, go for it. It is a lasting and performing investment.
