I’ve been asking myself the same question: should I buy the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra or wait for the S25 Ultra? If you’re in the same boat, this article is for you. After testing both smartphones in detail, I’m going to give you my honest opinion.
Few major differences between the S24 Ultra and the S25 Ultra
Let’s be clear from the start: the differences between the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the S25 Ultra are minimal. If you already own an S24 Ultra, upgrading to the S25 won’t radically change your experience.
Battery life remains the same on both models. I was able to use them without any problems for a full day, and sometimes even a day and a half. Samsung has optimized power management, but without any major revolution.
When I compare the screens of the S24 Ultra and the S25 Ultra side by side, no noticeable difference appears. Brightness, fluidity, and display quality remain top-notch, as always with Samsung.
The S25 benefits from a new generation processor. Logically, it is more powerful than the S24 Ultra. But in everyday use, the difference is barely noticeable. Games run just as well on both devices, and the fluidity remains impeccable.
Samsung is highlighting One UI 7 as an argument for the S25 Ultra. But be careful, this update will also arrive on the S24 Ultra. No real advantage in the long term, therefore.

A slightly reworked design
The most visible change concerns the design. The S25 Ultra adopts more square edges, which distinguishes it a little more from its predecessor. In hand, this difference is slightly felt, but nothing revolutionary.
Photography: the only real change?
I compared the two models on several types of photos and videos. Here are the results of my test:
Selfies and portrait mode: The quality remains similar. Colors are well managed and the background blur is clean. Zoom and details: At x5 and x10 zoom, the S25 Ultra seems to offer better detail management. But you really have to zoom in to see a difference. Night mode: Samsung has slightly improved the processing of night images. The S25 captures more details in dark areas. Video in low light: Again, the S25 Ultra seems to better stabilize the image and reduce digital noise.
Verdict: should you change?
If you already own a Galaxy S24 Ultra, switching to the S25 Ultra is not essential. The differences are minimal and do not justify a new purchase, unless you absolutely want the latest model.
On the other hand, if you come from an older model (S22 Ultra or earlier), then the new model may be a good option. You will benefit from an improved design, better power and a slight gain in photography.
